Ferdinand a Sparkly Favourite
We officially have a new favourite movie- Ferdinand, which was released on Blu-ray and DVD March 13 (Digital copy – February 27) and is all about kindness and friendship. Mason loves animated movies, so we knew Ferdinand would be a hit and of course, it was! We also have the book and read him the story a plenty of times before bed. I think the messages in the movie are important to teach your children at a young age. Don’t change who you are to be accepted by others and always be kind. I’m sure once he makes us watch it fifty times in a row he will understand it more and more, which is all that matters to me.
So, to celebrate the release I was presented with the initiative of “Kindness Rocks” and I was absolutely thrilled, honestly right up my alley. One of Mason’s favourite things to do is colour, well now he loves to paint too… as for Asher he just plays with paint bottles and supervises. So, as family we got some rocks, some paint and a tablecloth to try and avoid any disasters. Mason and Asher painted the rocks together and I watched them have a blast. Thankfully, they didn’t paint each other.
The next thing we did was wrote messages on the rocks, my personal favourite being “don’t let anyone dull your sparkle.” We then set off to put our little inspirational rocks all over the place for others to discover. It was such a fun little experience teaching our little guys the importance of being kind and considerate to others while incorporating one of their favourite activities.
We went into the neighbourhood and placed the rocks around to spread kindness and hopefully brighten someones day!
FEEDBACK FROM EXTRA SPARKLES PLEASE
Together as a family we had such an amazing time watching the perfect movie, which even relates to us adults, and encompassing the themes of the movie into a way that benefits the community. I highly suggest any parent to do this activity with their children.
Remember Ferdinand is available now on Blu- ray and DVD!
Oh this Movie was the Movie that we were going to get them to enjoy so glad that they are Luv it!! 😀 Tell them that Auntie Kat has presies from Australia for them 😉 See ya Soon 😀
This is so adorable! Reminds me of my favorite movies growing up and I can’t lie, the Lion King is still in my top 5 favorite movies list. There is something about those animal movies when you are a child that just really gets you!
How sweet!
Kindness rocks! Aww, what a beautiful idea to help spread a much needed message. I haven’t seen this movie, but I think my kids would love it! Thanks for the suggestion. 🙂
