High Tea isn’t just for Royalty

windsor8 You can buy a million different things in the world for Mother’s Day, personally, it’s the thought that counts at the end of the day. Sunday I wanted to give my mom an experience, a memory and something we would always remember, I mean she is going to be a grandma in less than 3 months (and a hot one at that!). Then that light bulb in my head went on and just like that I knew… HIGH TEA!

I have always wanted to have high tea, so when I heard the luxury boutique hotel Windsor Arms was having a special Mother’s Day high tea event in their Tea Room, it was a need. – Not to mention the closest I will ever feel to being Kate Middleton- DUH! windsor4

This is an experience I recommend everyone try at some point, the minute we walked into the tea room we gasped and had to take multiple photos. The deep purples, sparkly and velvet chairs, a chandelier that would make anyone’s mouth drop, we didn’t know where to start. We sat down and each table has different vintage tea cups (I should’ve worn a tutu), with three little homemade jams to the side. windsor3

The queen of the day my momma ordered “Snow White,” an apple tea, which you could smell a mile away. While I got “Tibetan Tiger” which had Chocolate Bits, Vanilla, Organic Rooibos & Black Tea. When I saw we got our own teapots I was amazed. LOVED IT!

They then bring you out… THE GOODIES! A dainty little three tiered serving platter, with perfect little nibblies. They looked so amazing I didn’t even want to eat them… but we did… pretty much all of them! windsor9

The bottom of the three tiered platter had four of the freshest Scones I had ever tasted.
The middle tier was a presentation of mini Fresh Sandwiches:

Potato Blinis with Smoked Salmon Rosette

Pinwheel Egg Salad

Vegetarian with Sundried Tomato Paste and Dill Cream Cheese

Croque Monsieur (AKA classy HAM AND CHEESE)

Goat Cheese and Caramelized Shallot Tart (okay hands down my favourite, I could’ve eaten a plate full of just that thank you very much)

The top tier is what they like to call “Petits Fours”

Mini Red Velvet Cupcake

Little Mocha Cake

Little Lemon Meringue Tart (which my mom LOVES)

A MINI TEA CUP MADE OF CHOCOLATE… filled with a cheesecake mousse.

….And remember ladies, if you don’t want tea you could always add a little bubbly to your experience, CHAMPAGNE PLEASE!

With our teapots being constantly topped up with hot water, our conversations about everything going on in life, and being in the perfect environment, I feel like Windsor Arms really did give us an experience. But most importantly a memory we could never forget and my momma deserved that.

NOW ALL I NEED TO DO IS REVIEW THE ROOMS AND STAY A NIGHT AT THAT HOTEL AND MY LIFE WILL FEEL SO MUCH MORE WHOLE! —THIS IS A NEED FOLKS!
