Love Your Heart with canola oil

Last week I had gone to an event all about canola oil- it was the Canola Connect Culinary workshop at Kitchen 24 and I left knowing how much canola oil would benefit me and my fam along with the added benefit of how good it tastes in recipes- I can thank Chef Rodney Bowers for that! Not to mention meeting Jeanette a local farmer from Alberta was amazing because we got to see how much these farmers do every day just to ensure we receive nothing but the best!

People don’t realize all the benefits that cooking with canola oil has for us health wise- monounsaturated fats found in canola oil, have been shown to improve blood cholesterol levels which is something everyone needs to know more about.

Creating our own salads, eating some poached salmon every aspect about this event was all surrounding canola oil and teaching us to love our heart, and I left doing just that. And if you look in my cabinet you will see multiple bottles of canola oil for all cooking purposes. Another reason I love to cook with canola oil is its neutral tasting so its not leaving an ill taste in anyones mouth or giving our recipes a harsh taste!

Here is one of my day to day recipes that’s easy quick and has a touch of canola oil leaving its mark!

Georgia’s Cheesy Scrambled Eggs with a Kick
-2 tbsps canola Oil
-4 eggs
-1/4 cup milk
-1 cup fresh spinach
-1 tsp tobasco sauce
-1/2 cup shredded cheddar
-salt and pepper to taste

Place canola oil into the pan on medium and combine all other ingredients! Takes 6 mins and you are loving your heart!

And remember March 14 is pie day and you better bet I’m making my pie using canola oil and supporting our canadian farmers.
