Tomato “Baking” Me Crazy

IMG_3568Tomato Bake….whether you want to make this simple, yet, amazing dish for dinner or as a side you won’t be sorry! The minute I tried Tomato Bake it was over for me… garlic croutons with cheddar cheese? How do you really go wrong… the answer is, you don’t.

So here is a recipe that will blow you and all your guests away! Happy Cooking!




2 tins Italian seasoned chunky stewed tomatoes

2 tbsp oregano

1 tbsp sugar

½ large finely chopped onion

1/8 pd butter

Garlic and butter croutons

8 oz (1 cup) grated Cheddar cheese (But, use as much as you like)



1.)Preheat the oven to 350F

2.)In a sauce pan melt butter and mix in croutons so they are coatedIMG_3560

3.) Throw in 4 oz of cheddar cheese to the crouton mix and remove from heat.

4.) Open up cans of stewed tomatoes and drain 1 tin completely and about half of the other one.IMG_3553

5.) Combine tomatoes, oregano, sugar and onion and place into an oven safe baking dish.IMG_3559

6.) Take crouton mix and spread evenly on top adding the remaining 4 oz of cheddar cheese.IMG_3563

7.) Cook until bubbly approx. 25 minutes.



Make sure you don’t leave this dish sitting out of the oven to long because the last thing you want is soggy croutons! This amazing dish serves four people… ENJOY
